Commission statuses
What each commission status means, from pending to paid or reversed.
What this is
Every commission carries a status that reflects where it stands in the review and payment process.
Why it matters
Understanding each status helps you know whether a commission is still being reviewed, ready to count toward a payout minimum, or already resolved.
Status reference
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending | The commission has been calculated from a tracked or reported conversion, but it has not been approved yet. |
| Approved | The commission has passed the program's review or approval mode and now counts toward the program's payout minimum. |
| Paid | The merchant has marked this commission as paid and it is included in a recorded payment on your Payments page. |
| Reversed | The commission (or part of it) was reversed, most often because the related sale was refunded, returned, or charged back. See Refunds, Chargebacks, and Disputes. |
| Rejected | The merchant determined this commission does not qualify for payment, for example due to a policy violation, invalid or duplicate transaction, or a self-referral. |
How to do it
- Open the Payments page and look at each entry under Commission activity for its status badge.
- If a commission shows an approval mode, for example "manual approval," expect a short review period before it becomes Approved.
- Compare the reversed amount against the original commission amount on Test Tracking's test commission entries, which display commission, reversed, and net figures the same way live commissions work, so you can learn the mechanics safely.
What happens next
Only commissions in an Approved or Paid state generally count toward your accumulated unpaid balance shown in the Payout minimums card. Rejected and fully Reversed commissions do not contribute to that balance.
Common mistakes
Do not assume Pending means something has gone wrong. It is a normal, temporary state while the program's review process runs its course.
