Tracking your links

Tracking IDs and referral links

Create referral links and label your traffic sources with tracking IDs.

What this is

On an approved program's detail page, under "Your application," you can create referral links and, separately, Tracking IDs to label where different pieces of traffic come from.

Why it matters

If you promote a program through more than one channel, for example a newsletter and a YouTube video, tracking IDs let you see performance for each source separately instead of one combined total.

How to do it

  1. Open a program where your application status is Approved.
  2. Click "Create referral link" to generate a link with a unique referral code that points to the program's website.
  3. To label a traffic source, enter a Label (for example "Newsletter") and a Code (letters, numbers, and dashes only) under Tracking IDs, then click "Add tracking ID."
  4. Once a tracking ID exists, you can attach it when creating a new referral link so clicks and conversions through that link are grouped under that label.
  5. Click "Copy link" on any referral link card to copy the full trackable URL.
  6. If a tracking ID is no longer in use, click Archive on it. Archived tracking IDs stop being offered for new links but their historical performance is preserved; you can restore them later.

What happens next

Each program's page can show a performance breakdown by tracking ID once your application is approved, including clicks, conversions, and commission totals per source, which helps you learn which channel performs best.

Common mistakes

Do not reuse the exact same referral link across very different channels if you want separate performance data. Create a distinct tracking ID and link per channel instead.

In short

Referral links are what you share; tracking IDs are optional labels that let you compare performance across different traffic sources for the same program.
