Testing your tracking

What this is

The Test Tracking page lets you run a complete safe test, from a test click to a test order, to confirm that a program's tracking is set up correctly before you send real traffic.

Why it matters

Everything created here is clearly marked as test activity. Test clicks, test conversions, and test commissions are never paid, never included in your balances, payouts, tax figures, invoices, or reporting, so you can experiment freely.

How to do it

1. Step 1. Choose a program. Select a program you manage or have joined from the dropdown. If it is not ready for testing, a message explains why.
2. Step 2. Create a test link and open it. Click "Create test link," then click "Open test link" in a new tab, or select the link to use it. Opening the link records a test click and starts a test attribution session.
3. Step 3. Record a test order or adjustment. Choose an event type, enter an order reference and an amount in USD, and click "Record test event." Try a test sale first, then try a refund, partial refund, or chargeback against the same order reference to see how adjustments behave. Sending the same event twice never counts twice.
4. Step 4. Check the results. Review the Test clicks, Test conversions, and Test commissions lists that appear on the same page, including each commission's status and its reversed and net amounts.
5. When you are done, click "Clear test data for this program" to remove your test records for that program. Live records are never touched by this action.

What happens next

A test commission is only created if the program already has an active commission rule configured. If you see no test commissions after a test sale, the merchant has not finished setting up their commission rules yet.

Common mistakes

Do not use real customer order numbers or real payment amounts in a test. Use the placeholder-style test order reference and confirm you are working with the test link, not a live referral link.
