Accessing affiliate W-9s

How to view a certified tax document for an affiliate connected to your programs.

What this is

Affiliates can certify a digital tax document (a W-9 style form) on the platform. Merchants can request access to a masked version of an affiliate's certified document when a relevant program relationship exists.

Why it matters

Tax document access is always authorized and audit-logged; the masked view never contains the encrypted taxpayer identification number, and only certified documents are eligible to view.

How to do it

  1. Open the Tax documents tab of Operations.
  2. Review the list of affiliates connected to your programs who have a certified tax document available.
  3. Request access or view the masked document as permitted; the platform checks that you have an approved or active relationship with that affiliate before granting access.
  4. Use Request tax document copy if you need a formal copy for your records.

What happens next

Your access is recorded, and the masked document gives you the legal name, business name, tax classification, and address information needed for your own reporting, without exposing the full identifying number.

Common mistakes

Do not expect to see a tax document for an affiliate you have no active program relationship with; access is restricted to affiliates connected to your programs.
