Creating and editing a program

Step-by-step instructions for building a new affiliate program.

What this is

The program creation form on the Programs page, and the program workspace you reach afterward for edits.

Why it matters

Getting the commission summary, attribution window, and minimum payout right up front avoids confusing affiliates later and reduces support requests.

How to do it

  1. On the Programs page, click Create program.
  2. Fill in the program name, program type, short description, commission summary (for example "10 percent of qualifying revenue"), and a full description.
  3. Enter your program terms in the Program terms box, or leave this for the dedicated Program Terms Builder inside the program workspace.
  4. Choose Visibility (Public, Unlisted, or Private) and Application approval (Manual, Instant, or Invite Only).
  5. Set the attribution window in days and the minimum payout in cents. The platform enforces a floor of $10.00 (1000 cents); the form warns if you set the minimum above $100.00, since a high minimum holds affiliate earnings for a long time.
  6. Enter a payment schedule (for example Monthly, Net 30 after month close) and select applicable business categories.
  7. Click Create draft. Your program is created in Draft status.
  8. Open the program's workspace afterward to keep editing details, publish terms, and submit it for Diversified Affiliates review.

What happens next

The program stays in Draft until you publish terms and submit it. See Program Statuses and Lifecycle for the stages after that.

Common mistakes

Do not set the minimum payout below $10.00; the platform will reject it. Also avoid leaving the commission summary vague, since affiliates rely on it when deciding whether to apply.
