How affiliate payments work

Why the platform never holds affiliate funds and how you pay directly.

What this is

Diversified Affiliates tracks what you owe each affiliate based on approved, unpaid commissions, but the platform never holds or transfers the money itself. Merchants pay affiliates directly.

Why it matters

Understanding this up front avoids the mistaken assumption that the platform will automatically send money on your behalf.

How to do it

  1. Set up your accepted payment methods on the Business page's payment method controls, choosing from the supported methods such as PayPal, Venmo, ACH / Direct Deposit, Zelle, Check, Store Credit, or a custom method you request.
  2. Review each affiliate's accumulated, unpaid commission balance from the Payments tab of Operations.
  3. Pay the affiliate outside the platform using a payment method you both support.
  4. Record that payment on the platform. See Recording and Confirming Payments.

What happens next

Recorded payments update the affiliate's balance and give both sides a shared, accurate history of what has been paid.

Common mistakes

Do not wait to record a payment; affiliates track their own balance and problem cases can be raised if a payment is not reflected. See Payment Problems.

See Payment Methods and Thresholds for the minimum payout your program sets.
