Affiliate profile
Build the profile merchants review, and control what stays private.
What this is
The Profile page is where you enter the information merchants see when you apply to their programs, including your identity, contact details, online presence, and marketing profile.
Why it matters
Your profile must be complete before you can apply to any marketplace program. The Profile readiness card at the top of the page lists four sections and marks each one complete or incomplete: Identity, Contact, Online presence, and Marketing profile.
How to do it
- Identity. Enter your first and last name, and a Public display name, which is shown to merchants in the directory. If you operate as a business, check "I operate as a business" and add your business name.
- Contact. Enter your contact email, phone, city, state or province, and country of residence. City and state are shown to merchants; email and phone stay private unless you turn on sharing. Your street address is never collected on this form and is never shown to merchants.
- Online presence. List your websites and blogs, and your social and other properties, one per line.
- Marketing profile. Choose your categories and niches, your promotion methods, an audience description, an approximate audience size, and your geographic audience.
- Discovery. Choose your Display currency, which only changes how amounts are shown to you, not what a merchant sends. Decide whether to allow merchants to discover your profile and invite you to programs, and whether to show your email or phone to merchants who can already see your profile. Discovery is off by default.
- Click Save profile.
What happens next
Once every readiness section shows complete, the Apply button becomes available on program pages. If you change your country of residence, that change is recorded because country availability affects which programs you can join; see Country Availability.
Common mistakes
Leaving Online presence or Marketing profile empty is the most common reason applications cannot be submitted. Also remember that turning off Discovery does not remove you from programs you already joined, it only stops new merchants from finding your profile in their directory.
In short
A complete, honest profile is the single requirement standing between you and applying to any program in the marketplace.
