How tracking works

What this is

Diversified Affiliates records a click when someone follows an affiliate's tracking link, then attributes any later order or lead to that affiliate for as long as your program's attribution window allows.

Why it matters

Commissions depend on correct attribution. If tracking is not connected, orders will not be matched to the affiliate who referred them, and no commission will be created.

How to do it

1. Confirm your program is active or paused and Diversified Affiliates approved; tracking links only work for programs in that state, and only for affiliates whose relationship with your program is approved or active.
2. Connect your store or server in Integration Center so orders, refunds, and leads are reported to the platform. See Integrations Overview.
3. Once connected, confirm behavior end to end using Test Tracking before relying on live traffic. See Testing Tracking.
4. Review attribution results in Analytics and Reports.

What happens next

A qualifying order or lead reported through your connection creates a conversion, which in turn can create a commission if your program has an active commission rule.

Common mistakes

Do not launch a program without first connecting an integration and running a test transaction; without it, real orders will not be attributed to affiliates.
