Testing tracking

How to run a safe test transaction to confirm tracking, conversions, and commissions work.

What this is

The Test Tracking page lets you run a complete, four-step test transaction for any program you manage or have joined, without affecting live records.

Why it matters

Test activity created here is clearly separated from real activity: test clicks, conversions, and commissions are never paid, never included in balances, payouts, tax figures, invoices, or reporting.

How to do it

  1. Step 1: Choose a program. Select the program you want to test. If it is not ready, the page explains why.
  2. Step 2: Create a test link and open it. Click Create test link, then Open test link in a new tab to record a test click and start a test attribution session.
  3. Step 3: Record a test order or adjustment. Choose an event type, enter an order reference and a USD amount, then click Record test event. Try a refund, partial refund, or chargeback against the same order reference afterward; sending the same event twice never counts twice.
  4. Step 4: Check the results. Review the test clicks, test conversions, and test commissions that were created, including commission amount, reversed amount, net amount, and status.
  5. When finished, click Clear test data for this program to wipe test records for that program without touching live records.

What happens next

A confirmed successful test gives you confidence that your Integration Center connection and program commission rule are working correctly before real customer traffic arrives.

Common mistakes

Do not expect a test commission if your program has no active commission rule; the page explains that a commission is only created when one exists.
