Merchant status, verification, and reliable payments

How your merchant organization's status and verification affect your standing with affiliates.

What this is

Your merchant organization carries a status such as pending, pending verification, active, inactive, under review, suspended, or terminated, separate from your verification status of not submitted, submitted, additional information required, verified, rejected, or reverification required.

Why it matters

Affiliates decide whether to work with you partly based on whether your organization is verified. A verified badge shows the statement "Verified by Diversified Affiliates on [date]," which reflects information reviewed as of that date only and does not guarantee you remain active, financially sound, or in compliance going forward.

How to do it

  1. Complete your Business page information fully so nothing is outstanding when you request verification.
  2. Submit for verification from the Verification page once the "Items requiring attention" list is empty.
  3. Monitor your status and any reviewer notes on the same page, and review your full verification history there.
  4. If asked for more information (a reverification request), address the reviewer's notes and resubmit.
  5. Keep your business information current; a verified badge only reflects your information as reviewed on that date.

What happens next

A verified badge is visible to affiliates evaluating your programs, alongside program-level trust signals such as approval and clear terms.

Common mistakes

Do not treat a verified badge as an ongoing guarantee; the statement itself clarifies that affiliates should independently verify a merchant before conducting business, since verification does not confirm you remain active or compliant afterward.
