Commission statuses

What this is

Each commission carries a status, along with a commission amount, a reversed amount, and a net amount (commission minus reversed).

Why it matters

Only certain statuses count toward what you still owe an affiliate. Payments logic specifically excludes commissions already paid, reversed, or rejected when totaling an affiliate's pending balance.

How to do it

1. Review commission status from the Payments tab of Operations, from Test Tracking (for test commissions only), or from Analytics.
2. Treat pending and approved commissions as amounts still building toward a payout.
3. Treat paid commissions as settled and already sent to the affiliate.
4. Treat reversed commissions as ones reduced or cancelled, most often due to a refund, chargeback, or cancellation.
5. Treat rejected commissions as ones that will not be paid.

Common mistakes

Do not confuse a reversed commission with a fully cancelled one; a commission can be partially reversed, leaving a net amount still owed.
